The story
I've been designing brands for 12 years. Most of it in-house or at agencies, Bevy, CMX, Insticator, and agency work for Okta, Colgate, ADP.
The early-stage stuff was always what I liked most. A founder with a rough idea and no brand yet, where the choices you make at the start decide everything downstream. That's the part that actually matters, and it's usually the part that gets handled worst.
I went solo in early 2025 to do only that, work directly with founders, no account managers in between, no retainers. Now I help pre-seed and early-stage founders turn a rough idea into something people take seriously.

Philosophy
I don't start with what something should look like. I start with what it needs to do. Who's it for, why should they care, what do they need to get in the first few seconds. Once those are answered the design part is straightforward. If they're not, it doesn't matter how good the design looks.
That's why I say decisions, not deliverables. Making a logo isn't hard. Working out what the logo needs to communicate, and to whom, is the actual job, so that's where I spend the time.
I'll also push back. If you ask for one thing and I think you need something else, I'll say so. You're not hiring me to take orders, you're hiring me for a point of view. And I don't design for trends, because you can't afford to rebrand every year, so I make things that still hold up after your next round.

My perspective on design
Design is decision-making.
Every choice either builds trust or breaks it.
The brand has to fit the stage.
What works at Series B is not what you need right now.
Timeless beats trendy.
You can't afford to rebrand every year.
Branding is an investment.
A cheap brand isn't cheap.
Brand is a business decision.
It's the first thing people judge before they know your product.
AI can't shortcut the thinking.
The decisions are the work, and those are still human.
